Café
Prima serves a unique combination of exotic and familiar flavors
through it's cuisine. The restaurant is located in Fort Bragg,
a historic town near the beautiful and breathtaking Mendocino
Coast that offers a wealth of activities and attractions in itself.
The overall
effect of Café Prima is soothing, safe and predictable,
allowing each customer to feel special and at home. We work very
hard to please our customers embracing the common generalizations
that are so broadly true that
the peoples of Africa are friendly and hospitable.
At Café
Prima we hire happy, friendly people who are passionate about
food and service. All our wait staff is extremely knowledgeable
about the food and wine served.
Café
Prima is also an instant cultural museum where customers could
have a total experience of dining, an harmonious blend of materials,
colors, form, shapes, texture, furniture and lighting which are
very visible in the Africa sculptures displayed in strategic locations.
Architect
Paul Douglas refurbished our 100-year-old historical building.
The building exterior was refurbished, inside; an arched opening
was constructed to unify two separate building spaces. This interior
design combines three basic elements: these include historical
Fort Bragg craftsmanship such as high ceilings and wainscoting,
African color schemes and Asian design influences. The ceiling
is forest-floor green, molding of raspberry, a boarder accent
of persimmon, grape molding, and artichoke heart green walls with
an eggplant colored floor. Café Prima was honored for “going
above and beyond the call in beautifying the city” by the
Former Fort Bragg Mayor Lindy Peters, in December of 1998.
